Seely & Durland Introduces Masterpiece Personal Insurance from Chubb

Posted by Seely & Durland - December 29th, 2009

Warwick, NY, – February 8, 2003

As home values in the Hudson Valley climb, Masterpiece offers coverage that many residents need.

Seely & Durland now offers Masterpiece personal insurance from Chubb, announced Garrett W. Durland, CIC, President, Seely & Durland. The Masterpiece personal insurance program offers coverage for high value homes and valuables, including primary and vacation homes, automobiles, watercraft and yachts, artwork, jewelry and other items.

“The Hudson Valley has changed dramatically over the past few years,” stated Durland. “Million dollar homes, furnishings and valuables have become more commonplace throughout our area. There is now demand for this type of insurance. Seely & Durland is one of a select few agencies in the area making this program available based on the needs of our clients and the market.”

The Masterpiece policy covers clients’ homes and possessions. A Masterpiece home and contents policy offers extended replacement cost, even for antique and historic homes, with no dollar cap in New York. In a covered total loss, the client has the choice to rebuild and take advantage of extended replacement cost, or keep the cash settlement up to the policy limit.

“This is important,” explains Durland, “as most other insurance carriers offer dwelling replacement, but cap the limit available at 20% or 25% above the dwelling limit at the time of a claim. In this area especially, insurable values have sky rocketed and you can find yourself with insufficient coverage, even with ‘guaranteed’ dwelling replacement.”

“Masterpiece claim service and handling from Chubb are impeccable,” stated Durland. “There is no ‘dickering’ that customers of other insurance companies sometimes experience. We are proud of the service that Seely & Durland provides to our customers, and this program is no exception.”

Member insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies form a multi-billion dollar organization providing property and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers worldwide through 5,000 independent agents and brokers. Chubb’s global network includes branches and affiliates throughout North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia. For more information about Chubb, visit www.chubb.com.

Seely & Durland Joins National Program to Offer a Trusted Choices Alternative

Posted by Seely & Durland - December 29th, 2009

Warwick, NY, – March 22, 2002

Seely & Durland is a charter member of Trusted Choicesm, a new national program designed to identify insurance agencies that deliver choice, advocacy and customization to insurance clients.

To qualify for Trusted Choice, Seely & Durland has committed to a Pledge of Performance that promises its customers quality service, competitive pricing, a broad choice of products and unparalleled advocacy.

“The Trusted Choicesm logo tells consumers that this insurance agency is a trusted advisor and advocate which offers consumers a choice of products and markets,” stated Garrett Durland. “Buying insurance does not have to be complex or confusing. Most people lead a hectic and stress-filled life, so we focus on simplifying the insurance-buying process while providing the coverage to protect your family or business.”

The result of two years of research and development, the Trusted Choicesm brand highlights the qualities that consumers value and Trusted Choicesm agencies offer: customization of insurance coverage, choice of products and companies and help during the claims process.

That research indicates that consumers are intimidated by the insurance-buying process and want an agent who will guide, educate and advocate for them. And, while consumers use the Internet to service their accounts, more than half – 56% – want to buy their insurance in person.

“Unfortunately, insurance buyers don’t know where to find an insurance provider who meets their needs, and they don’t know how to identify ‘the good guys,’” says Garrett Durland. “Trusted Choice agencies must commit to a Pledge of Performance that focuses on customers’ needs. Seely & Durland has relationships with multiple insurance companies, and we can offer consumers more coverage choices – and better guidance for you if there is a claim.

Seely & Durland represents over twenty insurance companies, offering all forms of insurance, including home, auto, high value properties, life, business and bonds.
